I was born in Ayrshire and am a graduate of Edinburgh University. I spent 2 years working in Turkey before returning to the UK to farm at home. More recently I spent 6 years working on Islay managing an Estate and then 5 years at Scone Palace as factor.
Now I am working for an ex-Service charity in Edinburgh with 600 houses rented to veterans. Judy and I live in Duncrievie, Glenfarg. Our daughter, Clare works in Edinburgh and son Tom has just graduated from Durham.
In the past, I have also served on the committee of the South Edinburgh branch.
I'm a keen piper and enjoy gardening and the outdoors.
